An account based on logs and records kept by S2350 Capt Pardon Sheldon, owner, and master of the Hanover, of his voyage in 1838 from Providence, RI, to St. Petersburg, Russia and return. This paper is illustrated with a chart of the voyage, a picture of the Hanover, and a genealogical chart. As an added bonus, the paper offers information about early shipbuilding and navigation.
